Culture Padang

Padang City is the largest city on the west coast of Sumatra island and is the capital of West Sumatra province, Indonesia. Since the Dutch East Indies colonial period, the city of Padang has been a major port in the trade of gold, tea, coffee and spices rempah.memasuki the 20th century, coal and cement export through the Port of Bay began Bayur.
Name of the city was referred to another term for ethnic Minangkabau, and is used to refer to their cuisine, which is generally known as' Padang cuisine ". One of his cooking is "Rendang". The city has a museum located in the city center called "Museum Adityawarman". This museum specializes in the history and culture of Minangkabau tribe, tribes Mentawai and Nias tribe.
